All our casting instructors casting, teaching education and experience comes from active participation in the Australian Casting Federation,  Fly Fishers International or both as well as years of experience fly fishing our streams and lakes. Each has conducted clinics, workshops and hundreds of private lessons.

 

Pete West our school director started fly-fishing in the 60’s during the fibreglass era and joined the Geelong Fly-fishing Club in the early 70’s being part of the Geelong tournament casting team and  successfully competing for a number of years winning an Australian dry fly accuracy championship and holding Victorian and Australian records in the above event. He has Operated a guiding business for 11 years out of Gore, New Zealand’s Southland on the Mataura river and beyond as well as guiding in the Snowy Mountains in the eighties and Fraser Island for a short period in the nineties.         

Pete is a Certified Casting Instructor with Fly Fishers International as well as an Accredited Casting Instructor with the Australian Casting Federation and a member of the Association of Certified International Casting Instructors.He has been conducting fly casting classes for over 30 years and has fished extensively in both Islands of New Zealand and has fly fished in Idaho, Utah, Montana and Wyoming in the USA.  

All instructors at Fish Hard Casy Easy are FFI Certified or ACF accredited casting instructors.
